Rock Princess Loot Bags!

These loot bags were made for my niece’s 10th birthday.  She’s going  through a pre-tween stage where she’s too old for Hannah Montana and yet too young for Justin Beiber.  This was a hard one.  I settled on a Rock Princess look and she was quite happy with that. We made the loot bags together and she was ecstatic that I included her. We filled the lootbags with candy, hair accessory’s, and all other sorts of goodies! Her friends were super impressed with the look of the bags, to say the least.  They mostly appreciated that they had their own glittered initial in their bag!

Supplies:Cricut Lite Slumber Party
Googly Eyes
Martha Stewart Glitter in Tourmaline
Xyron (to glitter to bows)
Making Memories pre-glittered chipboard alphabet in Black
Pink Ribbon
Pink Loot Bags (I used “Celebrate” brand from Michaels
Pink, Black and White cardstock

Happy Birthday Mom!

This card was made with tons of love for my best friend - my mom! I love the colour theme I chose for this card, it is soooo pretty!  I used my Martha Stewart All Occasions Cake Art cartridge and I love it! There are tons of possibilities with this cartridge - borders, phrases and lots more. I also used Paper Lace for the first time - this is quite a functional cartridge as well - a gorgeous font, and lots of shapes that can be welded into cards by using a gypsy.

Supplies:
Cricut "Paper Lace" Cartridge (Lace 2 and Lace 2 shadow cut @ 4)
Martha Stewart All Occasions Cake Art Cartridge (Butterfly cut @ 2)
Corner Rounder
Black pen for faux stitching
i-Rock and crystals
Ribbon
Black, Pink, Grey and Patterned Paper
Ranger Stickles in Black Diamond

Custom Wedding Invitations

This is my first custom wedding invitation order!  Besides doing my own wedding invitations in May 2009 (150 of them),  I have steered clear of anything "wedding" since I was overwhelmed and sick of it all. I did my own invites, thank you cards, menu cards, wedding programs, favour tags...you name it, I did it. Months after my wedding, I felt sad since I no longer had anything crafty to make. I was looking for any excuse to do an invitation, my 1 year wedding anniversary, house warming party, anything! I accidentally discovered the Cricut machine while on a cake decor hunt at Michael's in May 2010. I saw the Cricut Cake machine and the lady said that Provo Craft had a regular Cricut machine as well. I was in complete awe when I went home and researched the Cricut Expression and all other Provo Craft products! It took a lot of research and a lot of learning, but here I am today, throughly enjoying the hobby I always loved, but in a totally new way. So, through word of mouth, I had a request to do 20 wedding invitations and I couldn't have been more honoured and excited to do these!  There were only 3 requests for the order: Had to be square, had to be classy and the colour combo had to be Cream and Silver.
It didn't take me long at all to figure out what I wanted. In fact, the Bride loved it so much, she had no changes. She loved the cardstock, the ribbon and the embellishments.  She has since asked me to do Menu and Favour tags, as well as decorate her cake. More pictures to come when I have completed those.

Happy 4th Birthday Card !

Here's another little girl's birthday card using one of my newest favourite cartridges I received for my birthday: Birthday Bash!

Supplies:
Cricut Birthday Bash Cartridge (Ladybug cut @ 3.5)
Tag cut @ 2
Postage stamp cut at 5
White Uni-Ball Signo pen for faux stitching
Jillibean Soup Twine
Elmers Red Glitter
Scrappy Mom Stamps "Simple Sentiments" Collection
Kraft, Brown, Dark Pink, Baby Pink, White, Black, Red, Blue and Green Cardstock

For this card, I felt that using Elmers glitter would be appropriate.  Although my favourite all-time glitter is Martha Stewart, Elmers glitter is chunky and child-ish looking (to me) and in my opinion looks like tiny sequins...I love it!

Ballerina Birthday Card!

My amazing, wonderful niece Vanessa is turning 4 years old and nothing was more appropriate than a Ballerina card. She is currently enrolled in ballet classes and is constantly showing off her new moves! I know she will love this card!

Chalk Ink
Martha Stewart Glitter in Tourmaline

Elmers Braided Cord
Scrappy Mom Stamps "Simple Sentiments"

I don't know about you guys, but I love picking up random crafting supplies at Wal-mart.  One of my favourite suppliers there is Elmers, they have great crafty stuff!  Go and check out the craft aisle.  I've picked up some things as sticky jewels, braided cord, gemstones, banner paper...and lots more. The prices are great too!

I glittered the little ballerina's leotard for some dazzle and pizzaz :)  If you are looking for a helpful quick video on using your Xyron to glitter, Alma of Alma's Pink Life has an awesome tutorial. Here's the link:

I cut the little girl at 3 and the frame for the sentiment is as follows: white cardstock at 1 1/4 and pink cardstock at 1 1/2.
