Grad Bash Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Grad Bash Blog hop and to my blog!  I am hosting this hop in honour of Giselle who is graduating this year!  I hope that my project inspires you to create something special for the graduate in your life who has worked so hard to fulfill their dreams and get started on their future!

I created a card for my wonderful friend Giselle who has been working very hard in school!  I kept the card simple since I wanted the focus to be on the extravagent tassle I created!

A close up of my fabulous homemade tassle!

Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Mother's Day Blog Hop and to my blog! This hop is all about Mother’s Day and a challenge to create anything, but no flowers allowed!

If you have come from Amanda's blog, you are in the right place. If you stumbled upon my blog and want to play along, you can do so by starting at Giselle’s Blog. This hop is a short and sweet one, but full of talented ladies and wonderful inspiration {and giveaways, too}!
I made a Mother's Day card and used butterflies as my inspiration.

Supplies:
Cricut Paper Lace cartridge (Butterfly overlay and shadow cut @ 5")
Cricut Martha Stewart All Ocassions Cake Art cartridge (Butterfly border cut @ 1.5" on inside of card)
My Mind's Eye "Garden Vignette" paper
White and Black Shimmer Cardstock (Card base is 5.5 x 5.5)
Black Satin Ribbon
Recollections Pearls and Embellishments
Martha Stewart Embossing Powder
Versamark Watermark Ink
ColorBox Chalk Ink
My Creative Time stamps

Close up of some of the details on the card. The pattern paper has script running through it.  I placed pearls in the middle of the butterflies.

I embossed this imagine using Versamark Watermark ink, then embossing with Martha Stewart embossing powder.

Inside card detail:

Lastly, I'm giving a cartridge once I hit 500 followers.  For a chance to win this cartridge, please follow my blog and comment on this post. One comment per person, per post please!

Disney Pixar Cars {Birthday Banner}

My nephew turned 2 this past weekend and since he is in love with Cars, that was the theme for his birthday, which worked out perfectly for me since I had purchased this cartridge from Michael's when it was on sale.

As most of you Cricut users know, the Disney cartridges are difficult.  The pieces are small and the layers can get confusing.  My cars are not perfect, however, my nephew loved it and that is what was most important! For this banner, I decided to create homemade rosette's for an extra layer and these were super fun to make!

Supplies:
Cricut Disney Cars cartridge
Cricut Boys Will Be Boys cartridge (for the font)
My Minds Eye Complete Boy paper stack
Recollections cardstock
Navy Blue satin ribbon
Crop A Dile Big Bite

Rosettes are easily created by scoring pieces of paper at every half an inch using a scor board and then accordion folding it.  You can find tutorials on YouTube.

Stay tuned for the rest of my Cricut Cars projects all this week including my very first attempt at the Cricut Cake machine!!!

Think Spring Blog Hop!

Welcome to my blog and the Think Spring Blog Hop hosted by Jessica and Nancy! If you came here from Jennifer at Crafty Card Gallery, then you are in the right place! If you just happened to visit my blog and want to play along, you can do so by clicking here.

The one thing I look forward to the most in the Spring time is having the snow melt and watching the grass grow slowly and turn green again. Now that Springtime has arrived, I wake up to birds chirping and I love it! It puts me in such good spirits! I also look forward to gardening, something I have learned to appreciate.  Which brings me to my project! I decided to create seed packet sliders! It's the perfect little gift and/or favour.

Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop!

Welcome to my Blog and the Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop! This blog hop is all about creating something sweet for your Easter celebrations. We hope you find inspirations and plenty of ideas to spice up your holiday :)

I created carrot treat cones to place at all the children's seats for Easter Sunday!

Supplies:
12x12 Orange cardstock
Light and Dark Green tissue paper
Green and White cardstock
Pattern paper
Foam Squares
Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade Distressing Ink
Cuttlebug (Animal Print Embossing Set)
Stapler
Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors
Cricut Easter 2010 Seasonal Cartridge (for the bunny)
Cricut Mini Monograms (for the cone, scallop and circle)

To create a more "carrot-like" appearance, I embossed the orange cardstock, then rubbed Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade over the embossing to enhance the texture!

To create the Fringe:
1) Accordion fold 1 piece of tissue paper
2) Staple the bottom of the tissue paper (approx. 1/4 from the bottom)
3) Cut the top of the tissue paper (approx. 1/4 inch from the top)
4) Use fringe scissors to cut the top of the tissue to create a "leaf like" look to resemble the carrot top!

To create the Cones:
Using Cricut Mini Monograms cartridge, select a circle and size it to fit the page.
Cut the circle in half and shape into cone, using adhesive to secure.

Once I hit 500 followers, I will be giving away a...
